LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities in Las Vegas are investigating the death of a person whose burned body was found near a highway south of the Colorado River resort city of Laughlin.

Las Vegas police say the body was found a little after 5 p.m. Monday near Needles Highway.

Police Lt. Jeff Goodwin tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal (https://bit.ly/29G7hkU ) that the Clark County coroner’s office will conduct an autopsy.

The identity of the person wasn’t immediately made public.
