JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Authorities say two teenagers have died in a head-on crash on U.S. 54 in central Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 15-year-old Karlie Jones, of Holts Summit, and 16-year-old Caleb McClain, of Jefferson City, were pronounced dead Tuesday at the scene of the Callaway County crash.

The patrol says the crash happened when the teen’s westbound car crossed the median at a curve and was struck by an eastbound tractor-trailer. Both vehicles then left the roadway.

The patrol says the truck driver was treated for moderate injuries.
