MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho (AP) - Firefighters say a fire has destroyed two homes and an outbuilding just northwest of Mountain Home.

Officials with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management tell KTVB-TV (https://bit.ly/29Fo8UH ) that the fire started in a mobile home in Elmore County. The flames eventually spread to another mobile home, as well as nearby grass and brush. Five other structures were also threatened, but firefighters expected to have the flames contained by Wednesday evening.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

According to the BLM, local fire agencies were able to respond quickly to the flames despite the area not being in a fire protection district.
