VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) - The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a man who was mowing ditches along Interstate 94 was injured when the tractor he was driving was struck by a pickup.

The patrol says 57-year-old Bruce Moritz was treated at a Valley City hospital and released after the Wednesday afternoon accident.

Authorities say 30-year-old Jeff Powers of Moorhead, Minnesota, was eastbound on the highway using cruise control when he fell asleep and the pickup drifted onto the south shoulder. Powers was not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.
