MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - The National Weather Service says south Alabama and southern Georgia could see some severe weather.

The Storm Prediction Center says both areas have a marginal risk of strong storms on Wednesday. The threat extends into Mississippi to the west and includes nearly all of Florida.

The threat area includes the Montgomery and Mobile metro areas in Alabama and Columbus, Georgia. Forecasters say wind damage is possible, along with heavy rains.

The National Weather Service says the Midwest and eastern Plains states have a greater chance of strong storms.
