VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) - Vermillion’s fire chief is leaving to take a job in Minnesota.
The Daily Press & Dakotan reports (https://bit.ly/29J3PGf ) that Shannon Draper has resigned effective Aug. 17, to become fire chief in Red Wing, Minnesota. He’s headed Vermillion’s Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department the past three years.
Vermillion has about 10,000 residents, and Red Wing about 16,500. Draper says he’s enjoyed his time in Vermillion but that Red Wing is a better situation for his family.
