FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say two people are being treated at a Flagstaff hospital after walking between railroad tracks and getting clipped by a passing train.

Flagstaff police and firefighters responded to the scene about 7 a.m. Thursday and say it was not near a pedestrian crossing.

Police identified the two injured as 32-year-old Jasmine Foster and 26-year-old Ignacio Abrego, both of Flagstaff.

They were transported by ambulance to Flagstaff Medical Center for moderate but survivable injuries.

Investigators say the two were walking between the eastbound and westbound tracks when trains approached from opposite directions.

The two were both clipped by the westbound train and they fell between the two trains as they passed.

Police say Foster and Abrego are facing charges for trespassing on the railroad tracks.
