CRYSTAL FALLS, Mich. (AP) - State police divers have recovered the body of an Iowa man who is believed to have fallen from a boat into an Upper Peninsula lake.
The Iron County sheriff’s office says Thursday that Brian Mennecke’s body was found Wednesday night in about 35 feet of water on Hagerman Lake, near the Wisconsin border.
Mennecke’s death is under investigation, but no foul play is suspected.
The sheriff’s office received a 911 call Saturday afternoon of a driverless boat crashing into a dock on the lake. Authorities believe the 56-year-old Mennecke was fishing and fell into the water before the crash.
