REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio (AP) - Officials are trying to determine what caused a maintenance building at an apartment complex in central Ohio to explode.

It happened Thursday night in Reynoldsburg, just outside of the state capital of Columbus.

Fire officials tell The Columbus Dispatch (https://bit.ly/29X5mr6 ) that the blast destroyed the maintenance building, blew out neighboring apartment windows and damaged nearby homes.

No one was in the building at the time, and there were no injuries reported.

The explosion was initially reported to have occurred at a house.

The newspaper reports the blast knocked out power to some apartments and homes in the area, and residents were spending the night at a nearby high school.
