SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Bay Area organizations will receive $725,000 through nine grants from the Hearst Foundations.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/29GYvD2 ) that the awards, announced at the Hearst Foundations’ June 28 board meeting, will toward causes ranging from mentoring low-income children to helping build and experimental learning ship.

The largest awards of $150,000 each were given to Richmond’s Rubicon Programs, to support education and employment programming, and the San Francisco Film Society, to increase youth education programming.

Education Outside in San Francisco, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Call of the Sea in Sausalito, Coaching Corps in Oakland, CuriOdyssey in San Mateo, Sterne School in San Francisco and Young Men’s Christian Association of San Francisco also will receive funds.
