DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say another work release inmate has been listed as escaped from the state facility in Des Moines but also say another escaped inmate has been captured.

The Iowa Corrections Department said Thursday that 46-year-old Robert Garrett didn’t return from his job Wednesday. He’d been sentenced to 58 years in custody after his 1990 convictions for several crimes in Polk County, including assault, robbery, theft and child endangerment.

The department also reports that Michael Cowden, who also was listed as escaped on Wednesday, has been apprehended and is in custody at the Clarke County Jail.

The 29-year-old Cowden originally was sentenced to 15 years for assault and prohibited acts in Clarke County.
