NEW YORK (AP) - Police have arrested two people in connection with the vicious beating of an elderly man in Greenwich Village.

Police say 20-year-old Deangelo Coleman, of Chicago, Illinois, was arrested on assault charges and 19-year-old Briana Crusade was arrested on grand larceny charges. It wasn’t clear if they had lawyers.

Police say Coleman punched the 75-year-old victim in the back of the head and knocked him to the ground. He then kicked him in the face knocking him unconscious as Crusade stood by as lookout. The two then fled.

The victim suffered a laceration to the head and was hospitalized in stable condition.

It happened on West 14th Street just after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
