PICKENS, S.C. (AP) - An inmate who walked off a job site in Pickens County earlier this week has been recaptured.

Chief Deputy Creed Hashe said in a statement that 25-year-old Casey William Gillespie escaped Monday while cutting grass at a recycling center in the town of Six Mile, about 30 miles west of Greenville.

Gillespie was captured Thursday morning when deputies stopped a car they had under surveillance. Gillespie was found in the car operated by a woman from Six Mile.

Gillespie was serving a 90-day sentence for a driving under the influence, having drug paraphernalia and driving under a suspended license.

Authorities say he will now be charged with escape.
