PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A tornado warning is no longer in effect for a county in eastern Pennsylvania and one in northwestern New Jersey but thunderstorms are still bearing down in some areas.

The National Weather Service had said a severe thunderstorm Thursday afternoon was capable for producing a tornado in Northampton County in Pennsylvania and in central Warren County in New Jersey. The warning passed at 3:15 p.m., but severe thunderstorm watches and warnings were in effect for several counties in New Jersey. Union County, eastern Passaic County, Essex County, southeastern Bergen County and Hudson County were all under a thunderstorm warning until 4:30 p.m.

The agency urges people in those areas to take cover until about 3:15 p.m.
