ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. (AP) - Three boaters are safe after they were rescued by the Coast Guard when their vessel capsized off the Isle of Palms.

The Coast Guard reports the incident happened late Thursday morning when the 25-foot vessel reported it was taking on water about six miles from the island.

A Coast Guard helicopter and a 45-foot rescue boat were sent to the scene. The three people were found in the water near the overturned boat.

The rescue boat brought the three back to the Isle of Palms. The boaters did not require emergency treatment. Their names were not released.
