DETROIT (AP) - Buddy’s Pizza is marking its 70th anniversary with a mural featuring an image of the “Spirit of Detroit” statue holding a pizza.

A Detroit street artist known as Fel3000ft worked on the 100-foot-by-20-foot mural on Thursday outside of the home of the chain’s original location.

In addition to a rendering of the well-known Detroit statute, the mural includes images of other Detroit landmarks.

Buddy’s has been family-owned and operated since 1946. The chain has 11 area locations and is known for its Detroit-style square pizza.
