JUNEAU, Wis. (AP) - A judge has ordered forced feeding to continue for a Waupun prison inmate who says the practice is punishment.

Cesar DeLeon and four other prisoners at the Waupun Correctional Institution have refused to eat since June 7 as a protest against long-term solitary confinement.

DeLeon petitioned the court asking a judge to stop a temporary order for involuntary feeding and hydrating. He says the tube feeding is being used for punitive, not medical purposes.

The Daily Citizen (https://bit.ly/29BQBc5 ) says Dodge County Circuit Judge Steve Bauer watched a video of DeLeon being tube fed Thursday and said he saw nothing punitive about the procedure. He ordered the force feeding to continue for DeLeon for up to six months.
