LIDGERWOOD, N.D. (AP) - A Lidgerwood man has pleaded not guilty to assaulting a law officer.

The Daily News of Wahpeton reports (https://bit.ly/2a3tA6e ) that 38-year-old Michael Skroch is accused of ripping the badge from the uniform of a Richland County sheriff’s deputy who came to his home to talk to him on April 1. Skroch then allegedly scuffled with the deputy and punched another deputy in the face.

Skroch faces a felony assault charge that carries a maximum punishment of five years in prison. He’s scheduled for trial in late October.
