BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) - Authorities say a massive blaze tore through an old furniture warehouse in Brockton.

The fire was reported around 8:30 p.m. Thursday on North Montello street. Surrounding homes were evacuated and power in the area was cut.

Fire officials say one firefighter was treated at a local hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Deputy Chief Kevin Galligan says the MBTA had to be shut down because the tracks for the Montello and Downtown stops run behind the building.

He says the building is at least 100 years old and is completely uninhabitable.
