NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - Officials say they’ve added new charges to a child pornography case against a Virginia pastor.

The Virginian-Pilot reports (https://bit.ly/29S6ZrO) that authorities have filed 11 additional counts of distribution against Christopher Alan Hogge. Police say the new charges follow an extensive review of his electronic devices. They were seized in May from Hogge’s home in Isle of Wight County.

At the time of his arrest, police allegedly found more than 3,000 pornographic videos and photos.

The 48-year-old Hogge has been the pastor at Battery Park Baptist Church in Smithfield since 2001 and is the director of social services for the city of Franklin. Both jobs placed him around children.

It’s unclear if Hogge has a lawyer. He was being held in jail Thursday as he awaited arraignment on the new charges.
