WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - A man police say stabbed a woman 19 times and left her to die on a Worcester street has been held without bail.

Pedro Solis pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder at his arraignment Thursday in connection with the death of 31-year-old Cherise Hill.

Hill was found on the street at about 4:45 a.m. on the morning of Dec. 2 suffering from multiple stab wounds. She died at the hospital. Two men were caught on surveillance video attacking the woman. Prosecutors have not disclosed a motive.

The 26-year-old Solis was indicted in March was but was caught last month in Puerto Rico.

Solis’ lawyer said he reserved the right to seek bail in the future.

A second suspect remains behind bars without bail after pleading not guilty in March.
