HINESVILLE, Ga. (AP) - A 33-year-old Fort Stewart man has been shot and killed in Hinesville.

Hinesville Police Captain James Reid tells local media that officers responding to a shots fired call early Thursday found Shaun Williams lying wounded in the parking lot of an apartment complex. Williams had been shot several times.

Williams was rushed to Liberty Regional Medical Center where he died. He had been married to an active duty soldier and lived at Fort Stewart.

Reid says a preliminary investigation shows Williams was at the apartment complex visiting a friend when he got into an altercation with an unidentified man. The argument escalated, and Williams was shot.

Reid says detectives have identified several persons of interest in the case and are working to find them.
