TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 at Picacho Peak have been reopened after briefly being closed following two crashes that involved seven vehicles in all.

Arizona Department of Transportation officials didn’t immediately say Monday afternoon if there are any serious injuries in the crashes.

Authorities say four vehicles were involved in one crash and three vehicles in the other.

The Picacho Peak area is about the halfway point between Phoenix and Tucson.

A dust storm was reported in that area about the time of the freeway closure around 4:45 p.m. But the lanes were reopened about 20 minutes later.

The closure did cause about a one-mile backup on I-10 at Picacho Peak.
