NEW YORK (AP) - Federal and New York authorities are looking for a man in sunglasses who’s robbed six Lower Manhattan banks over the past year.

Almost all of the banks were near Sixth Avenue, which is officially Avenue of the Americas. So the suspect has been nicknamed the Americas bandit.

He had a female accomplice during the last two robberies.

The FBI’s Michael Harpster says law enforcers believe the crimes will occur again.

Harpster says they’re concerned because a gun was displayed in the last three heists.

The robberies are occurring during hours when the banks are busy.

So far the robbers have made off with $9,500.

The FBI is offering $5,000 as a reward for information leading to an arrest.
