PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A company that publishes more than a dozen Philadelphia-area community newspapers and magazines has changed hands.

Richard Donnelly, of Donnelly Distribution in Pennsauken, New Jersey, has purchased Broad Street Media. Broad Street Media’s publications include Philadelphia Weekly and the South Philly Review.

Donnelly bought the company from former chief executive Darwin Oordt and other shareholders who had operated it since 2010. Donnelly previously had a minority stake in the firm.

He said Monday that he plans to expand Philadelphia Weekly’s distribution.

He named Don Russell as editor-in-chief of Broad Street Media. Russell previously worked as a reporter, columnist and editor at the Philadelphia Daily News. He has written a beer column under the name Joe SixPack.
