ROSWELL, N.M. (AP) - Police in Roswell say they are investigating the death of a man at his house as a homicide.

They say the body of 76-year-old Jim Gentry was discovered Monday inside his northeast Roswell home.

A friend of Gentry’s called police about 11:45 a.m. to report finding Gentry unresponsive in the home.

The friend had access to the house and told police he went to check on Gentry after he couldn’t reach him by phone the last few days.

Roswell police investigators executed a search warrant on the house as part of standard procedure in the ongoing homicide investigation.

They say no suspects have been identified in the case yet and are not yet releasing information about how Gentry was killed.
