NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Police in Connecticut rescued a woman who climbed a crane in a shipyard after she took hallucinogenic drugs.

Police say they received a report of a disturbed person at Buchanan Marine in New Haven around 2 a.m. Sunday.

Responding officers spotted the 22-year-old New Haven woman holding onto the 70-foot-tall crane. She climbed down at the officers’ request.

She told them she climbed the crane because she had taken PCP earlier in the evening and was thinking about her life.

Her boyfriend told police they had been drinking. He said they walked by the shipyard and his girlfriend climbed over the fence.

The woman was unharmed. She was taken to a local hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
