SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a Sierra Vista man has been arrested and accused of attempted first-degree murder after a stabbing at a bar.

Sierra Vista police say 39-year-old John Christopher Haynes also is facing two counts of aggravated assault.

Officers were called to the International Karaoke and Bar early Saturday after an argument broke out.

Police say Haynes reportedly instigated the argument and agreed to leave the bar.

About 30 minutes later, police were again called to the bar after a reported stabbing.

When they arrived, officers say they saw Haynes running from the scene with an empty knife holder. Police later found the knife that he had discarded.

Haynes is being held at Cochise County Jail on a $75,000 bond. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.

The victim remains hospitalized.
