COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina Lt. Gov. Henry McMaster says he will be giving one of two speeches nominating Donald Trump as the party’s presidential pick at the Republican National Convention.

McMaster confirmed to The Associated Press on Monday that he would make his nominating speech on Tuesday. He was the first statewide elected politician in the country to back Trump’s candidacy when he announced his support ahead of early voting South Carolina’s February primary.

McMaster said Trump has a unique opportunity to unite a Republican Party fractured by a lengthy, hard-fought primary season.
