SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (AP) - A 28-year-old upstate New York man has been sentenced to six to 18 years in prison for a head-on collision that killed three people.

Joseph Duffy of Amsterdam was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty in Schenectady County Court to vehicular manslaughter and other charges. Prosecutors said he was driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs at the time of the Sept. 2 crash in Duanesburg, 20 miles southwest of Albany.

The wreck killed 56-year-old Betty Ann Brockhum of Gloversville, her 35-year-old daughter Vanessa Cohn of Esperance, and Cohn’s 14-year-old daughter, Summer Penny.
