PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. (AP) - Authorities have arrested two people in the shooting death of a man killed on a Pleasantville street last week.

But the man believed to have fired the fatal shots remains at large.

Atlantic County prosecutors say 22-year-old Pleasantville resident Hassan Montague-Reed faces murder, kidnapping and other counts in the death of 19-year-old Mark Smith. He was found late Thursday night on Vola Lane and later died at a hospital.

Two other Pleasantville residents are accused of forcing a witness into the basement of a home. Prosecutors say the pair and Montague-Reed kept that person there for a “substantial period of time,” hoping to dissuade the witness from reporting the shooting.

Nineteen-year-old Dijon Emory and 21-year-old Shaheedah Frisby are charged with kidnapping, witness tampering and conspiracy. It wasn’t known Tuesday if either one has retained an attorney.
