MARBLE ROCK, Iowa (AP) - A boil advisory is being issued for the city of Marble Rock in northern Iowa as the city cleans and inspects its water tower.

A news release from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources says Marble Rock residents are urged to boil their tap water or use bottled water for consumption until further notice starting Wednesday. That includes water used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth and food preparation.

Officials say low pressure during the maintenance work creates the potential for dangerous bacteria to enter the water system.

Officials will notify residents once testing shows the water to be safe to drink.
