PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a 9-year-old boy who died after he was pulled unresponsive from a swimming area at Lake Pueblo State Park.

The Pueblo Chieftain reports (https://goo.gl/NEqZRD ) Michael Wommack, of Colorado Springs, was playing on an inner tube at the Rock Canyon Swim Beach when he disappeared under the water Sunday.

Park staff deployed a boat with a sonar system within 10 minutes of the boy’s disappearance. He was found within an hour and was flown to a local hospital.

Pueblo County Coroner Brian Cotter says the boy drowned.
