COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Former South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is joining in a new business in his college town.

The Houston Texans defender has opened the KURE vape shop in the Vista area not far from campus. Clowney’s friend and advisor, Marty Sumichrast, said the player partnered with former South Carolina lawmaker Bakari Sellers and others to open the store, which is described as a “high-end, in-store retail and lounge experience” and comparable to a coffee shop.

If the business succeeds, Sumichrast said Clowney might get involved in other similar ventures, including one in Houston.

Clowney played three seasons at South Carolina from 2011 through 2013 and became the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.
