PITTSBURGH (AP) - An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting in Pittsburgh that left a 6-year-old girl in critical condition.

Police arrested 19-year-old Kamau Thomas, Jr. on Monday.

The shooting happened late Sunday night in the city’s Knoxville neighborhood. Police say the young girl was walking with an adult past a home when shots were fired in the direction of a porch where multiple people were gathered. The girl was shot in the head and remains hospitalized.

Thomas is charged with criminal attempted homicide, reckless endangerment, carrying a firearm without a license and aggravated assault. It’s unclear if he has an attorney who can comment on the charges.
