MINOT, N.D. (AP) - A former nurse at a Minot hospital has been convicted of stealing prescription drugs to help his girlfriend detox.

The Minot Daily News (https://bit.ly/2armKUu) reports that Harold Dupriest faces up to five years in prison.

Authorities say the 57-year-old stole prescription drugs from Trinity Hospital between July 2014 and September 2015.

Police accompanied Dupriest to a hotel room in September 2015 after pulling him over and found a woman on a bed in a room containing medical supplies.

Authorities say that Dupriest told police that he met the woman at the hospital and she requested help detoxing after she got out.

Officials who searched the room say they found needles, medicines and empty syringes of morphine and lorazepam.

An attorney for Dupriest didn’t immediately return a request for comment.
