AURORA, Colo. (AP) - A man charged in a fatal shooting outside a nightclub in Aurora has been convicted of first-degree murder.

The Aurora Sentinel reports (https://goo.gl/GD2Wmy ) 26-year-old Edgar Ibarra-Rodriguez was found guilty Monday in the Nov. 16, 2013, death of 31-year-old Humberto Bautista outside Club Fuego Fuego. Ibarra-Rodriguez was immediately sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Investigators say Bautista was killed in the club’s parking lot, and Ibarra-Rodriguez sped away after the shooting.

A warrant for Ibarra-Rodriguez’s arrest was issued in February 2015 after a tip provided a break in the case, which had stalled for more than a year until that point.

Bautista was a father of three children.
