SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) - A gang member has pleaded not guilty to the murders of three people outside a San Bernardino liquor store, including a 9-year-old boy.

Twenty-six-year-old Trayvon Eshawn Brown was arrested last week after he showed up at a probation office in Fontana.

Police said dozens of callers named Brown as the gunman who confronted three people as they left a liquor store on July 8. The attack killed 9-year-old Travon Williams, his father, also named Travon, and Samathy Mahan.

Investigators believe Mahan was the target.

The San Bernardino Sun (https://bit.ly/2a7GOPH) said Brown and Mahan had recently fought.

Brown, a Rialto resident, faces three counts of murder with enhancements on each count for using a firearm.

Brown has an earlier conviction for reckless driving to evade police.

He’s due back in court Aug. 3.
