WEST DOVER, Vt. (AP) - Mount Snow officials say the Vermont ski resort’s new West Lake snowmaking system will likely not be ready in time for the upcoming winter season.

The Brattleboro Reformer reports (https://bit.ly/29JE6in ) the West Dover resort is still waiting on money that will help pay for the project to be disbursed through the federal EB-5 funding program, which offers permanent residency to foreign investors.

Dick Deutsch, Peak Resorts’ vice president of business and real estate development, says Mount Snow stands to receive $52 million for various projects once the investor’s source of funding is approved.

Deutsch says $30 million is earmarked for the snowmaking system while the other $22 million will be used to build a new ski lodge.

Mount Snow officials say they are extremely frustrated by the situation.
