DOVER, Del. (AP) - Police in Delaware are identifying a man who was fatally hit by a car and his wife, whose body was found in their Dover apartment when authorities tried to notify her of her husband’s death.

Delaware State Police identified them in a statement Tuesday as 36-year-old Pierre Rubens Volcy and 25-year-old Wislene Volcy Deborne. Police say the couple’s 2-year-old son wasn’t injured and was turned over to the Division of Family Services.

Police say Volcy was struck and killed by a car early Monday when he walked into its path on U.S. Route 13. Officers say his car was found nearby with the engine running.

When officers went to his home, police say they found his wife’s body in a rear bedroom with obvious injury to her torso.
