BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (AP) - The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department has issued a warning to the public that a company is trying to solicit donations for an unapproved campaign, claiming to be in support of law enforcement.

Sheriff Ricky Adam tells The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/29XaKMq) someone is calling people and claiming to be with the sheriff’s office. He says the caller is trying to get money for a so-called “Support the Blue” fundraiser.

Adam says the supposed fundraiser is not a part of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
