ROCKLIN, Calif. (AP) - A teenage boy has been arrested in the killing of a teenage girl whose body was found in her bedroom in Northern California.

The Sacramento Bee reports (https://bit.ly/29SCdRF) the 13-year-old girl was found dead Tuesday by her mother in their Rocklin home, where the teenage suspect also lives.

Rocklin Police Department spokesman Lon Milka says the girl appeared to have died from blunt force trauma.

Officers from the Rocklin and Roseville police departments and the California Highway Patrol searched for the 14-year-old boy for 40 minutes before taking him into custody.

Milka said both the boy and girl lived in the home but police had not determined their relationship.
