SUPERIOR, Ariz. (AP) - A highway in east-central Arizona is partially reopened following a serious accident involving multiple vehicles.

The state Department of Transportation says one lane of U.S. 60 is open west of Superior after Tuesday morning’s accident.

According to the state Department of Public Safety, initial reports indicate that the accident involves two commercial vehicles and three passenger vehicles and that at least one injured person has been airlifted from the scene.

Authorities say no additional information is immediately available and there is no timetable yet for the other lane of U.S. 60 to reopen.
