LORIS, S.C. (AP) - Troopers say three people have died in a head-on crash in Horry County.

The Highway Patrol said a 2001 Mitsubishi crossed the center line of a two-lane road near Loris around 10 p.m. Friday and slammed into a 2001 Dodge minivan.

The coroner’s office says the driver of the Mitsubishi, 24-year-old James Lawrence was killed along with 3-year-old Lylah Lawrence, who was not in a child seat. A second child in the car also was not restrained and was injured and taken to the hospital.

Authorities say the driver of the van, 59-year-old Victor Kelly, was also killed. He was wearing a seatbelt.

A special team of troopers is investigating the crash.
