FARGO, N.D. (AP) - A Grand Forks man is charged in federal court with dealing methamphetamine and heroin in North Dakota and Minnesota.

Elias Esquivel has pleaded not guilty to four charges, including conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance. That charge carries a maximum penalty of life in prison.

Esquivel is also charged with possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.

Trial is scheduled for Aug. 2.
