LUCEDALE, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say a 35-year-old man has been arrested in Mississippi and charged with killing his ex-girlfriend in Louisiana.

Officials told the Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/29kYZjQ ) that Jonathan Talley was arrested Friday in George County, Mississippi, after he showed up at his parents’ house with his 3-year-old son and told his parents he had shot his ex-girlfriend.

The George County Sheriff’s Office called the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana and deputies found the body of Aimee Kirst, 33, in her Pearl River, Louisiana, home Friday. Investigators say she died of an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

He faces first-degree murder and second-degree kidnapping charges.

Authorities say Talley had a restraining order against him for assaulting Kirst in 2015.
