PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities say a man running for a city bus was pulled under the vehicle and killed in west Philadelphia.

Police said the 71-year-old man was trying to catch a Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority bus in the Parkside area at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police said he got caught on the rear tire and was pulled under the bus. He was pronounced dead at the scene 10 minutes later. His name wasn’t immediately released.
