BEAR, Del. (AP) - State police say a woman turned her car into the path of a motorcycle at an intersection in Bear, and the motorcyclist was killed.

The crash occurred shortly after 8 p.m. Friday. Police have identified the driver of the car as 58-year-old Elena Kirk of Bear. The motorcyclist was 54-year-old Philip Hastings, also of Bear.

Hastings was wearing a helmet. He was treated at the scene and taken to a trauma center, where he died.

Police say Kirk was not seriously injured. Police say she had not been drinking and it’s not clear whether speed, alcohol or drugs were factors on the part of the motorcyclist. The crash remains under investigation.
