SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - A Santa Fe woman is accused of drunkenly causing a crash that killed two people.

The Santa Fe New Mexican reports (https://bit.ly/29hgFeH) that Yvonne Martinez has been booked into Santa Fe County jail on two counts of vehicular homicide and one count of driving with a suspended license.

Sheriff’s officials say she crashed her vehicle at a bend on N.M. 503 between Nambe and Cundiyo on Friday afternoon.

Responding deputies found two passengers thrown.

They pronounced one, 53-year-old Gary Trujillo, of Chimayo, dead.

The other, Madeline Romero, was taken to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

A third passenger wearing a seat belt survived.

Martinez suffered minor injuries.

Investigators say several bottles of liquor were in the car.

It was not known if Martinez had an attorney.
