GOSHEN, N.Y. (AP) - Two Hudson Valley men have pleaded guilty to their roles in a brutal beating earlier this year that left a 48-year-old man dead.

The Times Herald-Record of Middletown reports (https://bit.ly/29XWio9 ) 28-year-old Richard Vallejo pleaded guilty Tuesday to first-degree manslaughter, admitting that he repeatedly kicked Leonel Mondragon-Hernandez in the head on March 30 in the city of Newburgh. He’s expected to be sentenced to 20 years behind bars.

Thirty-year-old Kelsin Rivera pleaded guilty to assault in the beating for punching the victim in the stomach and shoulder. He’s expected to receive a four-year prison term.

Vallejo and Rivera will be sentenced on Sept. 9. Both men are from the city of Newburgh.
